Amico Mio

... On may in 1999 I was playing in a guitar festival in Soave (Verona) when I had the plossibility to meet and play with Tommy Emmanuel.

After the concert, Tommy asked me how do we say "my friend" in Italian and I answered, "amico mio".
After the final concert, during the road back home (a four hours trip), I was thinking of my luck in having the holy gift of music.
I was also thinking of two important guitarists and friends of mine, Didi Maglioni - who played in duo with me for a couple of years - and Tommy Emmanuel.  

While I was driving , a melody started in my mind. Just the time to be at home, 4:00 a.m., and the melody was virtually completed.

 

I took out my guitar and so "Amico mio" was created. The composition was recorded on a Lowden Jazz Guitar model with nylon strings, customised on my request.

 

"AMICO MIO"

The record was recorded with the 1st viola and the 1st Contrabass
of scala di Milano, Danilo Rossi and Giuseppe Ettorre.
